Meet the Lea Marie Faraone Foundation
Our Story
When young Lea Marie Faraone was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, everything changed for her family. Suddenly, they had to think through each detail of their lives in terms of CF. Despite their fears and questions, they decided to live as “normally” and fully as possible. As Lea grew older, she embraced this mindset. She became a public figure and a passionate advocate who lived the life she wanted, touching thousands of other lives along the way. She dreamt of creating her own foundation that would help improve quality of life for young people with CF and other chronic illnesses. Lea passed away on December 13, 2018 while waiting for a transplant, but her vision forges forward today. The Lea Marie Faraone Foundation was born to fulfill her dream of helping others with chronic illness live life to the fullest each day, rather than waiting for a cure. Because no one should wait for wings to fly.
Smiles For Success (SFS) Foundation
The Smiles For Success (SFS) Foundation was established in 1995 by members of the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD). The SFS Foundation was formed to assist women in transition from welfare to work who cannot afford the cost of dental care. Facing a job interview for them may mean self-consciousness, embarrassment, and pain as they attempt to hide decayed, missing, and damaged teeth.
Smiles for Success offers cost-free dental care to women graduates of accredited job readiness and placement programs or other community-based agencies thus helping those who are helping themselves. A smile for Success is affiliated with numerous job readiness programs in over 30 states. The dental care offered is meant to be a short-term solution to those who need treatment unavailable to them through government programs or traditional insurance as they move from public assistance to the working world. Smiles for Success provide an opportunity for the dental community to effectively assist women who are on public assistance confidently obtain employment and financial independence.
Dr. Bergeron and the team at Town Center Cosmetic Dentistry are proud to be providing dental care to the women in the Smiles for Success program. Our office is currently partnering with the Marian House to provide care for women in the greater Baltimore area.

Maryland Legends Ball Program
Dr. Bergeron and the team at Town Center Cosmetic Dentistry are proud sponsors of the Maryland Legends Ball Program. In January of 2020 our office provided a $1,400 sponsorship for a female student to play softball on the Lady Dukes team for the Spring 2020 season. Here's what Mackenzi had to say:
Dear Dr. B,
I would like to thank you for your very generous sponsorship. This will allow me to play this season of the sport I love, softball. I am very grateful to you for the help you are offering for me and my family. Ever since my mom was diagnosed with cancer in December, it has quickly become difficult for us to find the money required for this season, but because of your donation, I am able to play. My team is currently preparing to play in qualifying tournaments to try to make it into a national event. This would be a huge opportunity and learning experience for me, as a 14u player, to participate in such a high-level tournament. Not only do I want to thank you for the donation but also thanks for being my kind and caring dentist. You are the best!
